Congratulations to Frederic Cassivi who was named the Calder Cup MVP after the Hershey Bears defeated the Milwaukee Admirals Thursday night in game 6 of the Calder Cup Finals!
Game 6 was not even close compared to game 5 Tuesday night in Hershey. With the 2nd largest crowd ever at the Giant Center (10,807), people were standing on their feet cheering so loudly for about the last two minutes of the game as Hershey tried to maintain their 5-4 lead after the Milwaukee goalie was pulled. Finally after Hershey got an open net goal, the crowd exploded into an even louder roar knowing the Bears were 1 game closer to clinching the Calder Cup. It was by far one of the most exciting games we have ever been to & was well worth the trip to Chocolate Town to see this even though it was our 3rd trip there within about a month!
What was even nicer was the number of people who stopped us as we walked around the arena congratulating Worcester on getting an AHL team again!
What was nice, too, was that Giant Arena was open to Hershey fans for Game 6 (no admission or parking charge) so those who couldn't go to Milwaukee could watch the game on the jumbotron. Over 6,000 people attended this! Giant Arena was also open on Friday night for fans to go & celebrate with the Bears on their triumphant return with the Calder Cup.
