....PLEASE stay off of the Barons and Sharks forums.

Remember how pissed off we got at Riverman fans that came here? That's what's going to happen when you go there.

No matter your intentions you are not doing anything positive by posting on their forums right now.

I agree, im very happy but at the same time sad for them.  We do know what its like (especially 11 years then gone)..so I would hope no one does that to offend them.

I'll add one more to this:

Bill Ballou's "attendance" article appears to have ruffled some feathers in Peoria. There are a few posts about it on various message boards- just stay away from that one too. No sense in starting a Worcester/Peoria fan grudge match over it.

People take announced attendance figures too seriously. Providence has one of the higher announced average attendance figures in the League, but last summer the team sold coupons for $5 that could be exchanged for a ticket to any home game in October or November. There are also many tickets that are sold to groups for only $8 each, and still other tickets that are given away for free. If Providence is averaging twice as many fans per game as Peoria it does not necessarily mean that there are twice as many hockey fans in Providence.

Providences attendence figures have always been a little streched to say the least. Not sure how the count done there but it is different and doesn't look correct, Worcester was known to always publish the numbers correct no matter what they were.

The Providence attendance figures are the number of tickets distributed. For example, if they sell 5,000 tickets and give away 4,000 tickets to a game, then the attendance is announced as 9,000 regardless of how many people actually are in the building.

They should just annouce how many tickets were sold to end this confusion to people.  Make life a little simpler.  After all all the regulars know attendance = tickets sold or given to charitys etc....not how many came throught the turnstyles.
